Orders disciplinary action against 4 headmasters for poor performance in Secondary School examinations

SRINAGAR, JANUARY 17 (KNO) : On the instructions of the Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, the Director School Education Kashmir, Dr G N Itoo accompanied by District Development Commissioner, Sajad Hussain today visited Bandipora to take stock of the educational scenario in the district in the backdrop of recently announced Matric results by J&K State Board of School Education (JKBOSE). The Director School Education Kashmir ordered disciplinary action against the Headmasters of Govt High School Shadipora Sumbal, Govt High School Panar, Govt High School Kurara and Govt High School Leharwalpora because of poor performance of their schools in the results of secondary school examinations. Instructions were given to the Chief Education Officer (CEO), Bandipora to immediately start remedial classes for the students who could not qualify the examination. Deputy Chief Education Officer Bandipora was asked to remain available in Gurez for one week every month to personally oversee functioning of educational institutions there. District Development Commissioner Bandipora assured his full support to uplift educational standards in the district. He also assured in order to fulfil the dream of making year 2018 as the year of infrastructural development in education as announced by Minister of Education Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, the district administration will provide every support to the department. Director Education also visited CM’s Super-50 Coaching Centre and took stock of its functioning. He also visited winter tutorial centres established in various schools of the district. Dr Itoo visited schools in Asham Sharief, Shadipora Sumbal and some other areas. He instructed the Chief Education Officer to personally monitor all the arrangement and academic functioning of CM’s Super-50 and winter tutorials in the district. Director School Education also visited DIET Bandipora and sought first hand information about the ongoing training of teachers there. He instructed the Principal DIET to adhere to the schedule of trainings in letter and spirit. Director School Education gave instructions to the Principal to send reports of absentee trainee teachers to Directorate for immediate action. Dr Itoo said that the Minister for Education has already passed instructions to make optimum and proper use of winter vacations for coaching of students and training of teachers so that there is no wastage of time in the schools during the academic session. Secretary School Education Farooq Ahmad Shah has also instructed that the DIETs should be made more vibrant and teacher training programmes undertaken by SIE and DIETs should be followed strictly so that out teaching staff is fully equipped with the latest trends and methodology of imparting education to the students.(KNO)
